Wuxi to receive Mexico Pavilion after Shanghai Expo
As the Shanghai Expo gears up to open its gates to the world on 1st May, organisers are beginning to turn their attention to what to do with the country pavilions after the Expo. In a first, this week Jiangsu's Wuxi city signed a deal with Mexico that will bring the Mexican Pavilion to the city when the Expo closes. In attendance were Jorge Guajardo, Mexico's Ambassador to China, and Wang Guozhong, Wuxi's Deputy Mayor. The open plan Mexican Pavilion is a 4,000 square metre grassy area covered with kites made of environmentally friendly plastic. The kites represent a strong common culture held by both China and Mexico. [more]
