US$1.54 billion foreign trade in Changzhou a sign for increasing imports
More good economic news from Jiangsu comes with the announcement of foreign trade volume for the city of Changzhou in January. An increase of 37% year on year is represented by the US$1.54 billion total for foreign trade, included in which is a rise of 20.4% for exports and a hefty 107.3% for imports. Of the exports, approximately 25% came from the high-tech electronic goods sector. The city's foreign invested enterprises are preparing for a boost in their production capacity as the month also saw a 224% rise in equipment import by foreign firms to US$37.62 million. [more]
