Giorgio Morandi - the Italian master of modern times

The Museum of Modern Art in Bologna, MAMbo, with the support of the Region of Emilia-Romagna, in co-operation with ShContemporary, will celebrate the work of one of the most admired Italian painters of the twentieth century, Giorgio Morandi. The Italian master’s extensive array of contemplative and introspective still-lifes, landscapes, engravings and etchings have earned him a distinctive place in Modern art history. The small retrospective will take place at ShContemporary in the Shanghai Exhibition Centre from September 9-12, 2010 and will consist of an exhibition of selected pieces of Morandi’s work, and a full day workshop dedicated to exploring the influence that Morandi’s work has had on modern and contemporary Chinese art.
