Frequently asked questions about Nanjing
南京FAQ

How is living in Nanjing and life in Nanjing compared to other Chinese cities?

Nanjing is the ninth biggest city in China and despite its population of over 7 million, Nanjing has a small town feel. Traffic flows relatively smoothly along tree-lined streets and outside of rush hour a trip across the city will not take more than 20 minutes and RMB15 in a taxi. Nanjing people are friendly, laid back and extremely traditional and conservative. They are also early to bed too making it hard to find a meal in a Chinese restaurant after 9pm! The city has recently been voted one of the most comfortable cities in Asia to live and shall be host to the second Youth Olympics in 2014. Whereas Shanghai and Beijing may offer a better standard of living, Nanjing beats them hands down for quality of life!
