Men in white, or 'white hats' attend cyber-security conference in Beijing
They are known as 'white hats'; think of them as the friendly internet hacker; defenders of computer systems from the 'black hats'; the nice people who send us all those lovely weight reduction emails. Such cyber-security experts are gathering in Beijing on 4th and 5th August at a summit to increase internet security. Initiated by XFOCUS, a Chinese information security group, the conference has become increasingly significant as China's base of internet users has grown into the world's largest. While difficult to quantify, members of the 'black hat' community shall also be present at the conference, part of the aim of which is to create understanding between the two hacker cultures [more].
