Popular expat hangout Bluesky shall host a fundraising week next week in which the goal is to raise ¥25,000 plus, to provide a much needed urgent operation.

Zhao Pan is from Chengdu. His father, a farm worker, has lost the sight in one eye, and while supporting his family must also care for his 80 year old mother.

Your help is needed.

Can you donate items for an auction?

The fundraising event starting on Monday 22nd and continue for a week. The purpose is to raise money to pay for Zhao Pan’s heart surgery organized by Hopeful Hearts. After the earthquake, a lot of attention has been given to rebuilding the shattered communities, but there are still people needing help with other crises. With your assistance, we going to help Hopeful Hearts make a difference. From next Monday 22nd Feb until the following Sunday the 28th, 10% of turnover at Bluesky will be donated to help Zhao Pan receive the urgently needed operation at the end of the month. In addition, other fundraising will happen at Bluesky. See more details below.

When Bluesky knows what items can be auctioned they will email out a schedule. If there is enough, auctions shall be held on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights next week.

Thus far, the fundraising activities are as follows:-

1. A reverse auction. (Auctioneer starts with a high price and calls prices that gradually drop until someone claims the object at that price. If two people claim simultaneously, the price goes up a little and called again to detect the winner). If you have something to donate for the auction, email bluesky.aussie@gmail.com

2. Killer Pool: 20% of the prize pool on Wed 24th will go to HH

3. Monthly Pool Comp: 25% of the prize money on Sat 27th goes to HH
4. 10% of Bluesky turnover for the week go to HH
